Identified uses

In accordance with EC Regulation 1907/2006 Registration, Evaluation, and Authorisation of Chemicals (REACH) Article 37(2), a downstream user (DU) has the right to make a use known in writing to the manufacturer, importer, downstream user or distributor who supplies him with a substance on its own or in a preparation (registrant), making this an Identified Use.

With the aim to ensure that the registrants of the substance represent these uses in accordance with REACH Article 10(a) (iii) and, if applicable, Article 14(4), ETRMA, on behalf of its members, has identified a list of uses of chemicals in the tyre and rubber industry (see related documents).

ETRMA members recommend that registrants work with ETRMA through industry groups or consortia, to assure consistency and to minimize communications.
