ETRMA, European Tyre & Rubber Manufacturers’
Association, replaces BLIC. This modernised structure and
identity provides the tyre and rubber goods producers with
the proper means to achieving the increasing challenges they
face at European and global levels while anticipating
further regulatory and market pressures.
ETRMA members are:
• Bridgestone Europe, Continental, Cooper Tire,Goodyear-Dunlop Tires Europe,
Marangoni, Michelin, Nokian Tyre, Pirelli Tyre, Trelleborg Wheel Systems and
Vredestein.
• National rubber manufacturers associations of Belgium (Febelplast), Finland
(RMAF), France (SNCP), Germany (wdk), Italy (Federazione Gomma
Plastica), NL (NVR), Portugal (APIB), Spain (Consorcio)
and Sweden (SGI).
UK (BTMA) is an affiliated member.
ETRMA represents 4200 companies in EU25, employing
360 000
individuals with a turnover exceeding € 49 b while the
exports do represent more than € 6.3
b.
The product range of its members is extensive from tyres to
pharmaceutical, baby care, construction and automotive
rubber goods.

1984-1998:
|
The Association has constantly increased its
membership at the rate of the European construction with the
adhesion of national rubber industry associations from UK in
1984, Spain in 1986, Luxembourg in 1994, Finland and Sweden
in 1997 and opened to EU candidate countries with Hungary
being in 1999 an associate member. This led to the representation of the rubber manufacturing industry from 13
EU countries.

1959:
|
Two years after the signature in Rome of the Treaty
establishing the European Community, rubber manufacturing
associations from 5 founding Member States created the
Bureau de Liaison des Industries du Caoutchouc-BLIC, based
in Brussels in anticipation of the new opportunities that
the ambitious European project could bring.
