The Tire Sector SDG Roadmap is out

18 May 2021

The European Tyre and Rubber Manufactures’ Association (ETRMA) supports the World Business Council for Sustainable Development’s Tire Industry Project (TIP) and its new Roadmap for the tyre sector.

The tyre sector Roadmap is meant to accelerate tyre value-chain impact on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which were adopted by all United Nations Member States in 2015 to address some of the world’s most pressing issues by 2030. The Roadmap identifies how the tyre value chain interacts with the SDGs; the areas where the tyre sector can have the most significant impact; and key actions to scale and accelerate contribution to the SDGs.

ETRMA and all its members share the Roadmap’s goals to contribute on safety and environmental challenges on which the tyre sector can have a positive impact, improving work safety, addressing tyre and road wear particles via multi-stakeholders efforts, and enhancing circular economy solutions while ensuring sustainable management of end-of-life tires (ELT) in Europe.

In supporting the “Tire Industry Project’s new SDG Roadmap”, ETRMA and its members intend to continue to foster an open and inclusive dialogue with the entire industry value chain.
